With partial renovation of the museum site, we are now able to display some of the artifacts that the curators of the museum collected over the years. The museum is in an early stage of development. The displays, temporary and permanent, are still in the developmental stage. Meaning, some displays are currently incomplete. We are actively seeking other artifacts to add to the displays. We especially would like to add artifacts to our William Henry Heard (1850 - 1937) and to our farming displays. If you have an artifact that you would like to donate or loan, please contact the museum.
Currently on display: The Dreamer and the Dream (a doll collection donated in memory Sara Willingham by one of her sisters, Mary Craft); Sports (a doll collection); William Henry Heard (picture donated by Jimmy and Aurolyn White; book donated by Linda Heard); Abe Plummer (SNCC medallion and picture donated by Abe Plummer and time period artifacts donated by Linda Heard and Jimmy and Aurolyn White); Clark Gaines (signed jerseys donated by Clark Gaines); Farming Artifacts (cotton, basket, picture on loan from Wilbert) ; and other artifacts.
If you have not been to the museum, please make an appointment. We do not have a staff and presently open the museum to the public with appointments only.
